Roadkill Cycling - Oak Park, IL

RoadKill Cycling is a group for road cyclists who just want to ride their bikes. The goal is to have an open group where road cyclists of all skill levels can come together for listings of road ride opportunities and all things related to cycling. The group is for everyone’s use & you can be as active as you wish. It is understood that there are all levels of riding speed & comfort and you should be able to find others in the group who are interested in doing rides similar to your needs. All members can post rides that they would like to lead or be a part of. Please include information in your post such as meeting time & location, distance, average trip speed, average max speed, & any other pertinent information that will help others understand the details of the ride before they arrive at the meeting location. On weekday mornings, rides will typically be posted to depart at 5:15 or 5:30 AM from the former BP Gas station located at 800 S. OP Ave across from Kinderhook Tap, but any time or safe location is acceptable to start & finish a ride as long as it gets posted. Evening & weekend rides will be posted w/multiple options. Safety & Equipment: Wearing a helmet is an absolute must. Front & rear lights are required for rides between dusk and dawn. We strongly recommend that you wear a Road ID (www.roadid.com) in the event of an emergency. Keeping your bike and equipment in good working condition will enhance the experience for you and others in the group. Always use hand & verbal signals. Traffic signals must be followed. If you are new to group riding, riding in the back of the group until you have a feel for the ride and the riders is a good practice. We like to ride and be social and every once in awhile we get together without our helmets and spandex for some off-the-bike fun. The members of RoadKill Cycling look forward to seeing you on a ride soon.
